District Profile:
This district, on the southern coast of the province, includes the part of city of Saint John west of intersection of Route 7 and Route 1 including Colpitts, Lorneville, Seaview and Black Beach; the part Saint John north of Gault Road including South Bay, Acamac, Ketepec, Belmont, Morna Heights; Martinon to the county of Saint John border; town of Grand Bay and village of Westfield; all the parish of Greenwich and parts of parishes of Petersville and Westfield.

District History:
Kings had been a three-member seat.
3 Libs: 1935.
3 CONs: 1939, 1944, 1948.
3 PCs: 1952, 1956, 1960, PC in 1962 byelection, 1963, 1967, 1970.

Kings Centre:
PC: 1982, 1978, 1974.
LIB: 1991, 1987.

Grand Bay-Westfield:
PC: 2003, 1999, 1995.

Redistribution in 2006 added the parish of Musquash and the area of Maces Bay, Little Lepreau and part of Lepreau from the electoral district of Charlotte.

The district's population is 12,919. The riding was created in the 1995 redistribution from: Kings Centre (southern and west-central part of riding); Saint John West (area from eastern part of riding; and Queens South (southern tip moves to west part of this riding).

Political History:
2003: PC MILT SHERWOOD defeated LIB KEVIN QUINN by 218 votes.
1999: SHERWOOD defeated LIB GRACE LOSIER by 2,113 votes. June 17: SHERWOOD appointed minister of agriculture and rural development.
1995: SHERWOOD defeated LIB ED KELLY by 749 votes.
KINGS CENTRE (new riding in 1974)
1991: LIB GEORGIE DAY defeated COR COLBY FRASER by 129 votes.
1987: LIB KAL SEAMAN defeated PC HAROLD FANJOY by 1,993 votes
1974-1985: 1974, 1978, 1982: FANJOY won. 1976 and Nov. 21, 1978: Appointed minister of supply and services; Oct. 30, 1982 to October 1985: Chair, Board of Management (chair, Treasury Board).
