This district, unchanged in the 2006 redistribution, covers the northern part of Saint John (to city limits); that portion of the city of Saint John including Pokiok, Stanley, Millidgeville, Sandy Point, Drury Cove, Coldbrook and Indiantown, and excluding that part of Metcalf Street between Chesley Drive and Albert Street.

The riding was created in 1995 redistribution from all but one poll from Saint John North. The district's population is 14,491.

Political History:

SAINT JOHN PORTLAND
2003:	PC TREVOR HOLDER defeated LIB COLLEEN KNUDSON by 169 votes. Feb. 14, 2006: HOLDER was sworn in as minister of environment. He previously served as minister of environment and local government, following his November 2005 appointment to cabinet.
1999:	HOLDER defeated LIB LEO McADAM by 2,115 votes.
1995:	McADAM, incumbent from Saint John North, defeated HOLDER by 341 votes.
SAINT JOHN PARK (new seat in 1974)
1982-1991:	1982, 1987, 1991: DYSART re-elected. Oct. 27, 1987: DYSART appointed minister of education; Oct. 8, 1991 to April 25, 1994: Speaker. Dec. 2, 1994: Elected Speaker again.
1978:	LIB SHIRLEY DYSART, incumbent from Saint John North, ran in this district and defeated PC GARRY BONA by 299 votes.
1974:	New district. LIB ROBERT HIGGINS, elected in Saint John Centre in 1967 and 1970, ran in this district and defeated PC DON GREENLAW by 1,502 votes.
