Profile:
This is a central New Brunswick riding.
It's a diverse riding -- a blend of rural villages and an urban township,
a military base and a native reserve.
Includes: town of Oromocto, Gagetown Village, Cambridge Narrows, Geary;
parishes of Burton, Gagetown, Hamstead, Wickham, Cambridge; parts of Blissville
and Petersville parishes.
CFB Gagetown and Oromocto 26 Reserve are in the riding.

Riding created in 1995 redistribution from: all of Oromocto riding
(7787 voters); southern part of Queens South.

PC REG MABEY was elected in Sunbury in 1970.
In 1974, LIB LeROY WASHBURN defeated PC REG MABEY by 100 votes.
In 1978, LIB WASHBURN defeated PC JOHN McKEE by 55 votes.
In 1982, PC JOE MOMBOURQUETTE defeated LIB WASHBURN by 49 votes.

In 1987, LIB TOM GILBERT defeated PC MOMBOURQUETTE by 2,430 votes.
