There are approximately 61 covered bridges spread across New Brunswick. The Hartland Covered Bridge is probably the best known of the aging spans, but there are many others that were built around the same time. While some of the wooden bridges have become local landmarks, others have been destroyed by fires or damaged in other accidents in recent years. Some of the damaged bridges have not been replaced.
