City administrators are hired to run the day-to-day affairs of municipal governments. Cities were never required to publicly disclose the salaries of these officials until Sept. 1, when municipalities were added to the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act. CBC News requested the salaries of the senior administrators in Dieppe, Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John. Cities are only required to release salary ranges for officials and each city can pick the size of the salary range.
This interactive chart lists all salaries of $98,000 or higher that were given out by the four cities. The salaries are organized by city or you can click the “Salary” button to view a ranking of salaries from highest to lowest. If you move your mouse over each salary field, it will highlight the title and the salary range of the position. For more information, copies of the documents released to CBC News from the cities can be found at the bottom of the interactive chart.
