Spin Watch: Tories on NB Power deal

The Progressive Conservatives continued to hammer the Liberal government on the proposed NB Power sale all last week, trying to position themselves as the party for opponents of the deal. The Alward Tories forced the issue during the referendum debate on Thursday, where they smartly called for a standing vote to make sure each Liberal in the legislative assembly would stand and be counted. The Liberals defeated the motion in a straight party line vote with only ex-cabinet minister Stuart Jamieson abstaining on the Tory proposal.
