Symphonie Fatastique! Gros Morne Summer Music

This year musicians at Gros Morne Summer Music executed their most ambitious and creative feat to date; they reduced the score of the "Symphonie Fantastique" - Berlioz' epic orchestral masterpiece - to a chamber work for seven players. This new arrangement, by Canadian composer Jason Nett, enabled them to perform Berlioz' musical love story of hot-blooded love and desire for audiences in Corner Brook and small communities in Gros Morne National Park. The ensemble is Rosanne Wieringa (flute), Marie-Julie Chagnon (clarinet), Mintze Wu (violin), Bernard Kane (viola), Diederik van Dijk (cello), David Humphry (percussion) and David Maggs (piano)
