Dan Bursey, George Keeping and Tina Cassell at Trails, Tales and Tunes

The Trails, Tales and Tunes festival is enjoying a well-earned reputation for concerts that champion the best of local and imported talent. Based in Norris Point on Newfoundland's west coast, the festival is a magnet for musicians and audiences keen to bid winter adieu and welcome the Spring in a creative, social and festive environment. From a jam-packed Sunroom at Neddies Harbour Inn, with the view of Bonne Bay and the mountains of Gros Morne beyond, MUSICRAFT presents an intimate singer-songwriter session with George Keeping from Corner Brook, Tina Cassell from White Bay and Dan Bursey from Lewisport.

Colin Carr, Alison Black and Kristina Szutor

Sonatas for strings presented in the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra's Recital Series: cellist Colin Carr evokes the exuberance of Mendelssohn through one of his cello sonatas while violinist Alison Black explores the spirit of Paris through Debussy's music. Both are accompanied by Kristina Szutor.

Two young folkies, Katie Baggs and Ben Rigby, are on deck at the Ship Pub in downtown St. John's for the Folk Arts Society's regular Wednesday night folk club. It was elbow room only as Katie and Ben unveiled their new songs and tunes - beer and cheer taking a back seat to Katie Bagg's heart-wrenching vocals and Ben Rigby's creative banjo picking.
