Duo Concertante at the Junos

R Murray Schafer's Duo for Violin and Piano played by the Duo Concertante on their recent CD "Wild Bird" won this year's Juno in the "classical composition" category. The Duo Concertante, violinist Nancy Dahn and pianist Timothy Steeves, talk about their thrilling brush with the Junos in Toronto where they performed the Schafer during a pre-Juno concert at Roy Thompson Hall. Schafer's new piece, written for the Duo Concertante, was a joint commission between the Tuckamore and Ottawa Chamber Music Festivals and CBC Radio and we'll hear the Duo's winning recording, as well as Elgar's rhapsodic Piano Quintet in A minor from the Tuckamore Festival.
