His involvement with the Atelier Lyrique de L'Opéra de Montréal was highlighted by his performance as Taddeo in L'Opéra de Montréal's production of L'Italiana in Algeri, as well as roles in a number of the company's other productions. He also toured eastern Canada with Atelier Lyrique's productions of Carmen and Hansel and Gretel.
First Prize Winner of Orchestre Symphonique de Québec's Canadian Concerto Competition, Phillip returned to Quebec City in 2006 to perform works by Mahler. In the past year he has given several performances of Schubert lieder, including at the 2005 Queensland Music Festival with pianist Emily Hamper. His recent performance as Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia for Pacific Opera Victoria was highly acclaimed, as were other engagements during the 2005-2006 with the Edmonton and New Brunswick symphonies, the Elora Festival Singers, L'Opéra de Montréal and Cincinnati Opera.
Phillip's performance of the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Toronto Summer Music Academy & Festival was the climax of the festival's inaugural season. His
upcoming operatic engagements include roles with Edmonton Opera and Pacific Opera Victoria, L'Opéra de Marseille and Vancouver Opera.
