Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was an undisputed genius. By the time he was
ten he had already composed countless works and toured Europe, performing
for monarchs and nobility. When he died at the age of thirty-five, Mozart
left a legacy of some of the most lasting masterpieces of Western civilization.
The child genius became a man whose innate understanding of human nature
enabled him to write music that captures not only our ears, but our minds
and hearts.
CBC Radio Two celebrated Mozart’s legacy with special programming
during 2006 that
included live concerts, documentaries, listener requests, contests, giveaways,
and more.
