Elders Christmas Memories
CBC Saskatchewan's Diane Adams took a trip to the First Nations University of Canada's Annual Elder's Christmas Dinner. That's where four of the Elders there shared their Christmas memories growing up on the reserve, and their thoughts on Christmas today.
Hear Inuit Elder Millie Anderson share her stories of Christmas in the Arctic:
Mike Pinay tells us about makeshift skis and holiday pow-wows many years ago.
Sydney Kaye tells us what Christmas meals and homemade gifts were like when he was growing up on Kawacatoose First Nation.
Elder Lilly Daniels, originally from the Kawacatoose and George Gordon First Nations, explains why the holidays can be hard on Elders - and how she copes.
