Nil Köksal is CBC News: Morning's reporter in Toronto bringing viewers live coverage of breaking news stories across Ontario.
The volatile fight over land rights in Caledonia, the murder of Bandidos biker gang members, the 2005 Boxing Day shooting in Toronto and the 16th International AIDS conference are just some of the stories Nil has been dispatched to cover.
Nil also travelled to Turkey to bring CBC viewers stories of Canadians fleeing the conflict between Israel and Lebanon in July, 2006.
Nil started her journalism career with CBC in 2001, working her way up from Arts Bureau intern to editorial assistant, senior writer and then video journalist for CBC News at Six. She joined CBC News: Morning in November 2005.
Nil was born in Istanbul and is fluent in Turkish. She was raised in Ontario and British Columbia, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Journalism from Ryerson University.
And, in case you're wondering, Nil's name means "the River Nile" in Turkish.
