Youth and Power in Photography
"It’s OUR World!" the stunning and poignant
photo exhibit that has garnered much attention and rave reviews
in Switzerland, Germany,
New Caledonia, Hungary, Israel, Poland, and France will make
it’s only North American stop here in Montreal.
Mitja Rietbrock, the Swiss photographer behind this impressive
project, has worked as a reporter and cameraman in France
and Switzerland and been honoured with several journalist
awards for his work.
Using his skills as a photojournalist Mitja conceived "It’s
OUR world!" to raise awareness of the living conditions
of disadvantaged children. During his reporting and private
travels in over 80 countries, Mitja comes into daily contact
with children of different cultures,
religions, and social backgrounds. They all have two things
in common: The need to be loved, and the wish to live in a
peaceful world.
Unfortunately these wishes are not fulfilled for a huge
number of the
world’s children. It’s OUR World! gives voice
to the world’s
disadvantaged children and shows that many of the world’s
children are not able to live in a world of their choice.
All proceeds from the sale of his photographs are donated
to Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) whose mission it is
to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged children.
In Montreal, all proceeds will go to the LOVE Québec.
Mietja Rietbrock will give a lecture and will have a vernissage
