The Belgo Building: Over a decade ago, The Belgo Building on Sainte Catherine street near Jeanne Mance, was a run-down haven for struggling artists. Today, the Belgo Building has earned the reputation as one of Montreal's most important arts spaces. Galleries, dance studios, and photography exhibits line the halls.

But recently a new type of tenant has moved in; designers, architects, and art dealers now make-up over 80 per cent of the residents.

For Montreal Matters, freelance journalist Dan Werb brought us the story of the Belgo building and its transformation.
