| What is Montreal
Matters?
Montreal Matters 2002: MONEY was a new CBC
Radio 88.5 FM initiative: a month long, multi-media project
that focused on a topic relevant to all Montrealers. Throughout
the month of October 2002, the Montreal Matters partners worked
together as a team, with the community, to TAKE STOCK of
the year's topic, MONEY.
Spearheaded by CBC Radio 88.5 FM and in
partnership with
Hour Magazine, Concordia University, CBC television,
and CBC.ca, Montreal Matters explored the topic of
money through a variety of innovative and explorative ways. Partnership
also reached out to the following Montreal collaborators:
The McCord Museum, the NFB, L’autre Montréal and
Santropol Roulant.

A brief history:
Montreal Matters was inspired by Chicago Matters, a series that
continues to generate discussion around a topic of concern to the
Chicago community.
CBC radio liked the idea and developed a Montreal version, with
its own set of partners, and together, with the help of our community,
this year's topic MONEY: TAKING STOCK was chosen.
