The McCord presented a workshop-visit entitled MoneyTalks:
Commerce and Currency in Montreal. Visitors to the McCord
Museum explored the evolution of commercial Montreal since the 17th
century in the permanent exhibition Simply Montreal: Glimpses
of a Unique City. The workshop-visit took place in October,
every Sunday from 10:30am. They also discovered unique objects that
recount the history of business and Canadian currency.
Participants were also invited to make their own trade medallion
or bracelet of glass beads, both important symbols of exchange between
Europeans and Native peoples in the earliest days of the city.
The museum possesses one of North America’s top historical collections,
preserved and interpreted in a way that gives life to the rich and
varied heritage of Montreal and Canada.
On October 3rd, Montreal Matters was launched at the McCord Museum.
Santropol Roulant catered the event.
