What is the series about? The original idea was simple - produce a live music series which would promote emerging local and national songwriting talent.
Over the years it has grown to include roots, world, jazz and pop-based songwriters and musicians. Hundreds of performers have played the Routes stage and thousands of CBC listeners have attended these tapings. You never know who will turn up - but you'll always have a great time being part of the Routes experience.
Now all of Canada can hear these sessions on Canada Live - on CBC Radio 2

The Barr Brothers
'The Brothers Barr, are the core of well-respected Boston rock trio The Slip, and have been sucked up into Montreal's musical community. The band is made up of Brad Barr who has a growing rep as one of the city's tightest guitarists, and his brother Andrew ( excellent drummer for Land Of Talk and Lhasa DeSela among others ) as well as Harpist Sarah Page.
