Katie Malloch Retires
After nearly 40 years on CBC Radio as host of a succession of well-loved programs, award-winning jazz broadcaster Katie Malloch, based at CBC Montreal, is retiring from the airwaves in March. To commemorate this remarkable career milestone, a series of special concerts in Katie's's honour will be held in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver in the coming weeks, to be recorded for broadcast on CBC Radio 2's Tonic.

About Katie
A jazz fan from childhood, Katie began her career with freelance work at CBC in 1972. She went on to host a variety of music-focused programs including Radioactive and Jazz Beat, the show she co-created with Alain de Grosbois.
Katie has been the weekday host of Tonic on CBC Radio 2 since 2007. She was named Broadcaster of the Year at the National Jazz Awards two years in a row--2008 and 2009. A new host for CBC's Tonic will be revealed in the coming months.
