Monsoon House - Season 2

"If you've been following our great family saga, you'll see it's the same old, same old. Dad's on heart attack number four, and Monsoon House is still the ninth most successful publishing house in the Greater Toronto Area.

Since we last met, Yann Martel has gone on to international fame-- to name just one Canadian writer not published by Monsoon House. Right now our stable consists of two writers: Trenton Harrison, married to my sister Sabrina, and Milton Claymore an unstable poet. You think people don't have time to read novels? Try selling a book of poetry. The only good thing you can say about poetry books is that they take less time not toread. Of course some poets sell millions. Dr. Dre for example, but as my dad would say: Not my bloody cup of tea. Poetry however, is going to be big on the agenda very soon, bringing a great deal of attention to Monsoon House.

But for now, I'm in L.A, pretending to be in show business. We're getting into audio books. I'm in charge. Being in Audio books is like being in the music business. Sort of. They even give Grammies for some spoken word recordings. I'd like to win one and put one on the table in dad's office. To replace the actual gramophone he has on the table. But that's all later." - Sincerely, Russel Page

“I’m Russell Page. They say that your moment of death unfolds in slow motion. In my case it was painfully slow. That’s cause although my death was imminent, it wasn’t gonna happen until we got out of all the downtown traffic and onto the highway. I was desperately trying to think of a way out of this mess, but I don’t think very well on an empty stomach….which gives me an idea.”

What will happen to our hero? Stay tuned for part one of the exciting conclusion of our adventure with the family of Monsoon House.
