The federal government originally expected to bring in a little more than $244.5 billion in revenue for 2008-09. But economic conditions have forced a major recrunching of the numbers.
Now the government expects to collect $236.4 billion in the current fiscal year, which ends in March. That number is projected to fall even more, to $224.9 billion in 2009-10.
This expected revenue dip, combined with rising expenses, is expected to translate into a $1.1-billion deficit this fiscal year and $33.7 billion for 2009-10.
Here's a breakdown of the government's projected revenues. All figures are in billions of dollars.
