What's Classical
Aug 5 to Aug 7
Harbourfront Centre
Western classical music has always been influenced by the popular music of its day, but it has only been in the last 150 years that it has become more and more influenced by non-western traditions. Moreover, non-western classical traditions have become more present in the west, breaking down silos and infusing western composition. This festival will explore those points of intersection. The points where classical music meets and is altered by influences from Africa, Latin America and the Far East.
For more information, check out the Harbourfront Centre website.
