Errol's Pick

Laura Mvula is a classically trained singer from Birmingham, England, who began creating a buzz last November on the strength of a four-song EP. Six months later, she released her debut album, "Sing To The Moon", and the former receptionist became a household name in the U.K. "Sing To The Moon" is a majestic album full of daring arrangements and the music, a mix of jazz, R&B, and classical, beautifully complement Mvula's haunting, evocative voice. Our music columnist Errol Nazareth played some cuts from the CD this morning. Try not to miss Laura Mvula when she plays the Mod Club Saturday.
