Jazz & Blues Festival
The first annual Brampton Global Jazz & Blues Festival
kicks off tonight. The legendary New Orleans' pianist Dr. John is playing a special show Friday night titled "From Mardi Gras to Mambo", featuring Jane Bunnett and Sarah Morrow, a trombonist who played with Ray Charles. Bobby McFerrin is performing Saturday night. And there are some great local acts including Autorickshaw, who mix classical Indian and jazz, Downchild Blues Band, and Brampton's own Jazz Mechanics Big Band.
