The Rick Mercer Report
New Season
Last season THE RICK MERCER REPORT started with a splash when Rick swam blind with Canada's Paralympic team in Bejing. That launched a typical year of Rick crisscrossing the country on a quest to meet politicians, entertainers, athletes, and sample some wild, daring, or simply outlandish activities.
Rick hung out with retired PM Paul Martin, clothes shopped with Don Cherry, helped Michael Ignatieff make an important move, went on the road with Feist, exercised with long- running Mayor Hazel McCallion, and, of course, hit the campaign trail.
One week Rick got covered in bees; another found him lending a hand with the Algonquin Park bear census. He did zero gravity training with the Canadian Space Agency, and he even jogged with a reindeer. Just after the season ended, RMR received the 'Best Comedy' Award at the prestigious Rose D'Or International Television Festival in Switzerland. The show returns on September 29 for a 7th season with a new guest-list, many outrageous adventures, and plenty of laughs.
Rick will go anywhere and do almost anything. He'll turn up on campuses, join challenging sports event, interface with wildlife, and shadow unusual occupations. As the political scene is his bedrock, Rick will be very ready if there is an election.
RMR is back with all its popular weekly features - Rick's roving rant, The Front Page poke at newsmakers, and those irreverent TV commercials. It all adds up to another season of surprising exploits, special guests, and pointed comedy - the winning combo that has made THE RICK MERCER REPORT our number one weekly entertainment show.
