Tom Power is an award-winning musician and broadcaster, best known as the host of Deep Roots and Radio 2 Morning on CBC Radio 2. Hailing from St. John's Newfoundland, he started his career programming folk music on college radio, quickly moving on to work at the local private radio level as a news reporter / reader. In 2008, at the age of 21, Power joined CBC as the host of Deep Roots and in 2011 he was announced as the permanent host of Radio 2 Morning. Since taking the helm, his creativity, warmth and sense of humour has allowed him to continuously attract a young audience of CBC listeners. In addition to his work on radio, he also hosts the weekly music segment for Our Centre, CBC TV's entertainment / local programming that runs in major cities across Canada.
When not on the air, he leads his own band The Dardanelles, who have received a number of accolades both provincially and nationally. As the youngest host of a national radio program on CBC since Peter Jennings, Power is a rising star in broadcasting.
