The Durrells

About the Show

THE DURRELLS (Season 1, 6x60) is a warm, funny, feel-good British series about a family’s adventures on a gorgeous Greek island after leaving their English home in hopes of a better life. Based on Gerald Durrell’s much-loved Corfu trilogy of novels, THE DURRELLS sees widow Louisa Durrell make the radical decision to leave 1930s England to seek out a new destiny for her family before her offspring go completely off the rails. As Louise relocates her reluctant brood to a dilapidated house in the Greek sun, the Durrells face a whole new set of challenges as they meet new friends, rivals, lovers – and animals. Starring Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty, The Missing), Josh O’Connor (Florence Foster Jenkins), Milo Parker (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children) and Callum Woodhouse (Cold Feet).

Produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd. and distributed by BBC Worldwide, THE DURRELLS is written by Simon Nye (Men Behaving Badly) and directed by Steve Barron (Merlin). Executive producers are Sally Woodward Gentle (Any Human Heart), Lee Morris (Da Vinci’s Demons) and Simon Nye, and Christopher Hall (Critical) is producer.
