Keep Calm and Decolonize

About the Show

KEEP CALM AND DECOLONIZE (10x3mins) was the call to action by Buffy Sainte-Marie, a call that arrives as Canada turns 150. In heed of Sainte-Marie’s words, a group of artists have created their own responses to this moment, approaching the ideas and acts of decolonization from their own unique perspective. This series of short films includes works by established and emerging artists, including Alanis Obomsawin, John Greyson, Yung Chang, and Amanda Spotted-Fawn Strong. The series is curated and produced by Jesse Wente for CBC Arts. Films will be released this fall to frame the year’s anniversary with a vision towards a different future.
