About the Show

Canada’s highest honour in the performing arts, each year these awards recognize seven Canadian artists from the disciplines of classical and popular music, theatre, dance, film and broadcasting, as well as one prominent arts philanthropist. As broadcast partner, CBC/Radio-Canada will livestream the June 29, 2017 awards gala in Ottawa on cbc.ca and Radio-Canada.ca beginning at 8 p.m ET. In addition, a one-hour GOVERNOR GENERAL’S PERFORMING ARTS AWARDS 25th Anniversary Special will air on both CBC and ICI RADIO-CANADA TÉLÉ June 30 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT).
