Since its beginnings more than 25 years ago, CBC NEWS NETWORK has established itself as one of the world’s leading all-news television networks.  The network has been honoured at the prestigious Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo, winning the award for Best 24-Hour News Program in 2015 for coverage of the shootings on Parliament Hill.  

  CBC NEWS NETWORK features the work of CBC News journalists across Canada and around the world, with live coverage beginning each day at 6 a.m. ET, with popular news anchors including Heather Hiscox, Suhana Meharchand, Andrew Nichols, Reshmi Nair, Michael Serapio, and John Northcott. Peter Armstrong hosts coverage of the top business stories in On The Money at 4 pm ET weekdays. Power and Politics takes on political news and newsmakers between 5 and 7 pm ET weekdays, with the best-of Power and Politics also available at 10 pm ET weeknights.  Carole MacNeil hosts live prime-time coverage between 7-9 ET weeknights bringing depth and context to the top stories of the day.  The National with Adrienne Arsenault, Rosemary Barton, Andrew Chang and Ian Hanomansing airs across prime time on CBC NEWS NETWORK at 9 pm ET, 11 pm ET, 12 am ET and 1 am ET.

 

On weekends, CBC NEWS NETWORK not only covers live and breaking news, but features top current affairs programs including The Investigators with Diana Swain and the long-running documentary series The Passionate Eye.

 

The Investigators with Diana Swain takes viewers inside the world of original journalism, revealing the challenges, conflicts and questions about how investigative journalists uncover their stories.

 

The Passionate Eye is a showcase for documentaries from the around the world.  This season, The Passionate Eye marks 25 years as a documentary series.

 

CBC NEWS NETWORK also features CBC Marketplace, The Fifth Estate, The Nature of Things, and POV on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
