A mainstay at CBC Edmonton for more than 25 years, Mark Connolly is the host Edmonton AM, CBC Radio's morning show, the city where he grew up. He started off in radio in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he was the play-by-play voice of the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He then worked in radio in Red Deer and Edmonton before starting a weekend job at CBC Edmonton in December 1988, which has evolved through the years to his position today.
Outside of his radio duties, Connolly has been a member of CBC's Olympic Games coverage nine times, most recently as a commentator for track cycling at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Connolly has also been part of the broadcast team for numerous World Championships, the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games.
