Canada's up-and-coming figure skating stars are headed to Japan for the 2014 ISU World Figure Skating Championships and CBC will provide Canadians multiplatform coverage every day throughout the competition from March 25-30, 2014. CBC's coverage of the first major ISU competition since the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games includes two daily television broadcasts on CBC-TV as well as online streaming.

CBC's coverage of the World Championships begins Tuesday, March 25 with preview shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. (3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. NT) featuring in-depth analysis from Kurt Browning and Carole Lane. Live-streaming coverage from Japan will also be available throughout the event at, beginning Tuesday, March 25 with the pairs' short program at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT), followed by the Opening Ceremony and men's short program overnight. Live online coverage continues each night throughout the event through to the gala overnight on Saturday, March 29th. Overall, CBC will provide more than 37 hours of live streaming coverage from the World Championships. Through a sub-licensing deal, Sportsnet will also carry daily live coverage.

Canada's team will be led by Kevin Reynolds in the men's competition, Katelyn Osmond on the women's side, and pairs teams Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, and Kirsten Moore-Towers and Dylan Moscovitch, as well as ice dance duo Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje. In all, Canada will have 17 skaters for a total of 11 entries. Top international skaters include 2014 Olympic gold medallist Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan, American Jeremy Abbott, and Javier Fernandez of Spain in the men's competition. The women's field will include 2014 Olympic silver medallist Carolina Kostner of Italy and 15-year-old Russian phenom Julia Lipnitskaia.
