Analyst, Figure Skating | Road To The Olympic Games
World and Olympic figure skating coach and choreographer Carol Lane has more than 25 years of experience to draw from in her role as analyst for CBC's figure skating coverage on Road To The Olympic Games.
Lane's in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience with coaching and choreography provides unique insight into the technical aspects of the competition.
Lane began her skating career in London, England, at the age of seven. With a natural affinity for ice dance, she teamed with her first partner at the age of fifteen and competed in Junior Nationals. The following season she and her partner competed in both Junior and Senior Nationals. Lane then moved to Queens Ice Club, the premier training centre for international ice dancing where, under the direction of
Jon Lane and Gladys Hogg M.B.E., she became a regular on the international competition circuit, gaining a Senior National Championship bronze medal and an alternate spot on the World and Olympic team.
Lane has taught extensively in Europe and North America, and her students are currently competing regularly at the national, international and world levels.
Prior to joining the Road To The Olympic Games broadcast team, Lane provided analysis for CBC/Radio-Canada's coverage of the figure skating competition at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
