Three-time Gemini Award nominee Brenda Irving has been a member of the CBC Sports team since 1995 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as a commentator for CBC Sports' Road To The Olympic Games.
Irving is known for her work as host with CBC Sports where she covered the world of high-performance sport. Irving has also covered nine Olympic Games for CBC, including her role as a play-by-play commentator for gymnastics coverage during Rio 2016. Over the course of her career with CBC, Irving has covered a wide variety of sports and sporting events including tennis, Nordic combined, snowboarding, skiing, judo, Grey Cup championships and Stanley Cup Finals. Irving has also covered three FIFA World Cups for CBC and more recently, the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games.
Before joining the CBC Sports team, Irving worked for both CBC and CTV in their news departments with postings across Canada including stations in Montreal, Ottawa and Kitchener, ON.
Born in Cambridge, ON, Irving is a graduate of Conestoga College's radio and television broadcasting program.
