Matt Rainnie

Matt Rainnie is the host of CBC Radio One's morning show in Prince Edward Island, ISLAND MORNING.

Matt started his career with CBC PEI in 1993. He was a television reporter and journalist before finding his home in radio. For several years, he hosted and produced the popular afternoon show, MAINSTREET. During that time he occasionally was the guest host of Sounds Like Canada and Weekend Mornings, and was host of the summer program, Lost and Found.

Along with his brother Bruce, Matt hosted the annual Easter Seals Telethon on CBC Television for many years. Always active in the community, Matt has also hosted numerous charitable events across the province.

During its first three years, Matt hosted the CBC Maritimes production, SHORT FILM FACEOFF, shining the spotlight on regional filmmakers.

Matt is an avid film fan and for over five years, he reviewed movies weekly for CBC Radio and Television in the Maritimes.

He lives in Charlottetown with his wife and three children.
