Joan McCusker

Three-time Canadian and World Champion curler and Olympic gold medallist Joan McCusker has been part of CBC’s curling coverage since 2001 and brings the experience of four previous Olympics as a broadcaster, having covered curling for Salt Lake City 2002,  Turin 2006, Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018. 

McCusker was a member of the team that dominated the world of women’s curling in the 1990s.  With her teammates Sandra Schmirler, Jan Betker and Marcia Gudereit, McCusker won Canadian and World curling titles in 1993, 1994 and 1997. The team rallied in the fall of 1997 to win the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials and the right to represent Canada at the Olympics in 1998, where they won the gold medal.
