Amanda Ferguson
Reporter | CBC News Windsor

Amanda Ferguson joins the CBC News Windsor team on September 3, 2012, taking over the host chair while Susan Pedler is on leave.

Amanda is a regional RTNDA-award winning journalist from Amherstburg. She began her foray into the world of reporting by getting a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. After graduating from school, Amanda jumped into the world of print reporting, beginning in Windsor then moving to Edmonton.

While in Edmonton, Amanda moved over from print to the broadcast media, with additional responsibility for web reporting. She covered such breaking news stories as a hostage taking at the Workers Compensation Board.

After three years in Edmonton, Amanda moved to Regina to work as a reporter, specializing in breaking news including coverage of a bizarre torture case about a man who was dropped off at a Regina hospital. Many of her stories appeared on national television.

Most recently, Amanda has been reporting and hosting from CBC Calgary in 2011.

We're thrilled to welcome her home!
