Undeclared milk protein in various Golden
Wheat products

affected products have been distributed
in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. |
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
and Golden Wheat Products are warning people
with allergies to milk protein not to consume
certain Golden Wheat products described below.
The affected products contain milk protein,
which is not declared on the label.
The following Golden Wheat products, bearing
best before dates up to and including 11
MA (May 11, 2006) are affected by this alert
(the code is located on the plastic closure):

These products have been distributed in
Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
There have
been no reported illnesses associated
with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of this these products may
cause a serious or life-threatening reaction
in persons with
allergies to milk protein.
The manufacturer, Golden Wheat Products,
Ville Mercier, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling
the affected products from the marketplace.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness
of the recall.
