Health Canada Reminds Consumers Not To Use Miracle II Products from Tedco, Inc.

August 14, 2006

Health Canada is reminding consumers not to use Miracle II Miracle Neutralizer or any other products exported or sold by Tedco, Inc. of Louisiana because they could contain harmful bacteria.

A Health Canada warning and advisory were previously issued in May 2005 and August 2005 respectively, concerning the risk posed by Miracle II products, and a recall was requested by Health Canada in May 2005. However, a Canadian distributor was recently found to be importing and distributing Miracle II products in Canada. This distributor is working with Health Canada to recall the products, but Health Canada remains concerned that other companies or distributors may continue to sell Miracle II products through the mail or over the Internet. These products have not been authorized by Health Canada for sale.

A previous analysis found that a sample of Miracle II Miracle Neutralizer was contaminated with E. coli. The company has not provided Health Canada with quality control information which would exclude the possibility of further contamination with this bacteria. E. coli may cause serious adverse reactions or death. Adverse reactions can include nausea, severe diarrhea, body rash and fever. Children may be more sensitive to these effects than adults.

Miracle II Miracle Neutralizer is a natural product sold for uses such as the treatment of heartburn and sunburn, pet and plant health, and vegetable cleaning. It can be taken orally or applied directly to the skin. It comes in normal strength, double strength, and triple strength. Miracle II Miracle Neutralizer is also available in concentrated liquid form or powder for agricultural use.

Canadians are advised not to use the following Tedco, Inc. products:

Miracle II Five Pack (Neutralizer, Foamer Set, Scargone, Moisturizer)
Miracle II Neutralizer Powder
Miracle II Foamer Set
Miracle II Neutralizer Gel
Miracle II Laundry Ball
Miracle II Moisturizer
Miracle II Neutralizer
Miracle II Liquid Soap
Miracle II Moisturizing Soap

Health Canada has notified the Canada Border Services Agency to refuse any shipments of Miracle II products from Tedco. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a warning about the serious health risk associated with Miracle II products on December 6, 2005.

If you are experiencing any symptoms, or are concerned about your health after taking or being exposed to these products, you should consult a health care provider immediately. To date, Health Canada has received no reports of adverse reactions associated with Tedco, Inc. products.

To report finding these products on the Canadian market, please contact the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate at: 1-800-267-9675.

Consumers with Miracle II products should contact their municipal government for advice regarding their safe disposal.

Consumers requiring more information about this advisory can contact the Health Canada public inquiries line at (613) 957-2991, or toll free at 1-866-225-0709.

To report a suspected adverse reaction, please contact the Canadian Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Program (CADRMP) of Health Canada by one of the following methods:

Telephone: 1-866-234-2345
Facsimile: 1-866-678-6789
