Safety Recall
Strike First fire extinguishers recalled
for repair

Strike First Corporation has announced
a recall [PDF]
of certain Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers.
Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
The fire extinguishers can fail to discharge
properly when the trigger is activated,
which puts consumers at risk of fire-related
injuries.
SFC America, the U.S. distributor of
the product, has received three reports
of the fire extinguishers failing to discharge
properly when activated. No injuries have
been reported.
The recall includes
Strike First (Diamond) 2.5 lb and 5 lb
dry chemical fire extinguishers with
model numbers WBSF-ABC110P, WBDL-ABC310P,
and WBDL-ABC340P. The recalled fire extinguishers
have the following serial numbers (located
on the extinguisher’s label, below
the ‘ULC’ mark:

The fire extinguishers are designed for
commercial, industrial, multi-residential
and vehicle applications.
Consumers with fire extinguishers
included in the recall should immediately
contact your fire extinguisher service
company to request that the units be retrofitted,
