Working on our season finale about scams, we've uncovered a lot about why people fall for them, over and over. And our Marketplace mailbag is full of letters and emails from people who've been ripped off -- sometimes with devastating consequences.
With all the health related research Canadians are being inundated with, it's no surprise that viral e-mails about the harmful effects of MSG (monosodium glutamate) are making the rounds. The problem is -- while they seem to be sharing important advice -- it's actually based on inaccurate information.
Turns out the sales of water filtration systems made more headlines this week. Maybe you've heard of the political scandal involving the former aid to the prime minister, the escort and H2O Global Group, a company trying to make lucrative water deals in native communities.

France is putting a price tag on personal privacy. The country is fining Google $139,100 for its infamous Street View data collection, which breached the country's privacy laws. Last year, an investigation by Canada's Privacy Commissioner found similar breaches in Canada.
