Attached to the Platinum 7 package comes seven years of protection. The home's first year of coverage includes protection against defects in materials and workmanship provided by the Builder. The coverage is for defects that arise after the owner has taken possession of the home. Deficiencies present at the time of closing are not covered by the warranty and need to be addressed by the Homeowner at the time of closing.
Coverage in year two to seven is for Major Structural Defects as defined on the limited warranty certificate.
Those with the Platinum 7 coverage may enhance their coverage to the Ultimate package within set timelines following their Date of Possession. With this benefit, consumers receive 3 extra years of coverage, increased limits up to $50,000, along with all the protections and benefits of the Platinum 7 package. Also included with the Ultimate warranty is second year coverage on defects that result in exterior water penetration through the foundation walls and defects in the delivery and distribution of the electrical, plumbing and heating systems.
