Under Freedom of Information requests, Marketplace obtained copies of several "Incident Reports." These are the documents staff at care facilities must complete after a violent incident. Names of residents, staff, and facilities have been removed.

Iam shocked to hear that this abuse is happening to our seniors,who are unable to defend themselves.I have been taking care of my 95 year old Mom for the past 3 years and I have checked out 2 nursing homes,She won't be going anywhere now.Thank-you for letting the public know.I would like to know who is responsible for not stopping this nightmare. It seems that when the elderly are sent to retirement homes, they are at the whim of control freaks. Visits, mail, phone calls and tours are tightly controlled to conceal maladies. Are we going back to religious schools' mentality? Posted by: Ted B. | May 2, 08 11:20 PM
