Is Ottawa doing enough to advance the quality and availability of affordable child care ?

While the number of women in the workforce continues to grow, finding affordable, quality childcare in Canada remains an elusive goal for many parents. Meanwhile, the number of for-profit child care spaces is increasing.
But there are some encouraging signs that the importance of linking quality child care to early childhood education has taken hold in many parts of the country.
Those are some of the central findings in a report just released by the Childcare Resource and Research Unit, a policy research group that focuses on the related issues of child care & early childhood education.
