These days anyone with an internet connection and a webcam can achieve a kind of instant celebrity..or notoriety.
It's a notion of fame Andy Warhol could hardly have imagined when he said we'd all get our fifteen minutes.
But what does it say about our need to be noticed?
That's one of the questions the CBC's Shaun Waters explores this week.
His documentary is called Fame 15.0, and it's about a New Brunswick teenager who became a kind of star on YouTube.
