Indian Enough
In the last census, more than 24,000 people in Nova Scotia alone identified themselves as aboriginal.
That's a 30 per cent increase from only five years ago.
And many of them are doing more than just checking off a box on a form...
Some are researching their connections to the past, figuring out what this heritage means to them.
Others are fighting for official status with government departments, and even in court.
CBC reporter Maureen Googoo spoke with some of them, and brings us their story.
