Where There's Smoke...Will There Be Firefighters?
For many of us it's unthinkable that, if we called for help, they would be no one to respond.
But these days volunteer fire departments in some rural parts of the Maritimes aren't just fighting fires - they're fighting for their survival.
With an aging population, young people moving away, and residents working in cities outside their home communities, volunteers are increasingly hard to find.
This week, on Maritime Magazine, we look at the challenges facing one of these rural fire departments.
