When Russell Wangersky was a boy, he dreamed of being a firefighter.
He never thought the dream would really come true, until he turned 21 and realized a VOLUNTEER fire station wouldn't care that he was short and had glasses.
That was the start of a complicated relationship with firefighting...rewarding on one hand, but also emotionally debillitating.
It's all outlined in his new book "Burning Down the House; Fighting Fires and Losing Myself."
Pauline spoke with Russell Wangersky about his experience, and they began with a reading from the book.
