Wild Blueberry Delight
From the fields, to marketing offices, to research labs, people on Prince Edward Island are trying to learn as much as they can about wild blueberries. The worldwide demand for this wild fruit has never been higher. And since the berries can only be grown in the northeastern part of this continent, it's becoming one of the few crops that's still attracting new farmers.
Stefanie Arduini introduces us to a new blueberry grower on P.E.I. And she goes inside the research labs at U.P.E.I., where scientists are studying how wild blueberries can protect health, and prevent disease.
Information about the U.P.E.I. blueberry project can be found on the web at this link.
