For generations, Cape Bretoners have "going down the road" to look for work. These days, the road leads directly to Fort McMurray, Alberta, and the billion dollar oil industry. Every place in town is hiring, from giant oil companies to fast food joints. Just about everyone in Cape Breton knows someone who's headed west to work.
The CBC's Wendy Martin went down the road recently too, to find out what the boom in Alberta means for the people and the communities left behind.
